Breeze Ship Design is located at Stord in Sunnhordland and was founded by Ove Wilhelmsen and Tommy Hivand in October 2020, who both came from former Wärtsilä Ship Design. The company has already passed 20 employees and have experienced a promising growth due to increased design awards for newbuilds and several engineering jobs for ships in operation, where they today have access to the world’s most extensive design portfolio of former brands such as Wärtsila Ship Design, Vik-Sandvik, Skipskonsulent, Schiffko and Conan Wu & Associates.
Reinert Nordtveit has worked with Equinor since 2011, where he has held several leading and management positions within Equinor Shipping. Currently, Reinert holds a position as Portfolio Manager Newbuild, where he manages and follows up all technical aspects for Equinor’s tanker newbuild projects from market enquiry, construction and in to operation. He has also been the manager for Equinor’s Ship Technology department for several years, providing marine competence and technical support to shipping and marine operations.

I started my career as certified electrician before I graduated as a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer (MSc) at University of Strathclyde in Glasgow – and joined the ship designer Vik-Sandvik at Fitjar in 2000. After that I worked some years in Teekay Shipping as project manager in the department of new build & technology before joining Equinor in 2011. I’ve always had a sincere passion for R&D, innovation, and technology, and how this may find the best commercial fit to define the optimum vessel for its purpose. I have been very lucky in my career to work along these techno-commercial borderlines.
